t-350-400 guys help!

O.k,I awaped in a turbo 350 and the gm847 cam and installed a new pcm for less program to match, went to fire it up nothing no starter just the whine of the pump.So I Think for a second grab my old stock shifter and plug it into the harness and presto it turns over. What the heck! He was supposed to delete the tranny program so why didnt it start without the shifter?Thing also Idles like crap So im guessing I got the wrong tune, any guesses? did you guys still utilize the the factory shifter harness?

Yes, I utilized the stock harness. That provides for locking out the starter when not in park/neutral as well as back up lights. I assume that without it the PCM "thinks" the car is in gear.

Did you hook up the NSS to the new shifter? I hooked up that and my reverse lights to my new shifter. Without the NSS switch wires hooked up there is no way for power to get to the purple wire on the starter and the car won't start.
