Anyone using a Strange 12-bolt w/ the 3.90 gears in an A4? I am ordering a Strange 12-bolt from TByrne and I need to decide on the gears. I was considering the 3.90 gears instead of the 3.73's, which is what I am currently using in the 10 bolt. TByrne's site has this to say about these gears, "The 3.90s will be noisy so Strange doesn't promote this one". I called Strange and was told that the 3.90s are no louder than any other gear ratio. It was late Friday afternoon...did the guy just not give a schmidt, or are they really no louder than the 3.73:1 gears? I was thinking that the 3.90s might compensate slightly for the drivetrain loss created by the 12-bolt, but I don't want a noisey set of gears. Any thoughts?
