I have a Strange 12 bolt. It has about 600 miles on it and it started whining today when ever I take my foot off the gas. It doesn't really make any noise while driving. I haven't raced it with slicks or been to the track yet.

Just some hard acceleration with Drag Radials. I have 4.10 gears

Is this normal?

 

How bad is the whine?

Mine whine's slightly, but it's fairly constant, and doesn't bother me. With 4.10's I've heard that some whine is typical with that low of a gear ratio, especially depending on how it was broken in.

 

I have a Strange 12 Bolt with 3.73 gears. It whines a little bit on deceleration, but only between 30 and 40 MPH. I've put about 2000 miles on it.

 

I've got the 3.73s, and they whine ever so slightly... completely tolerable when compared to my 10-bolt with 4.10's which whined so loud I could hear/feel the whine over the stereo at full volume and at full-throttle with true-duals exiting right at the back of the doors.

 

I noticed tonight it's not bad while driving. It does whine a little but when you let off the gas it's pretty loud. It doesn't make any noise going around corners or backing up.
