stock T56, stock ds, and stock rear...
stock T56, stock ds, and stock rear...
But, I have a 383 LE3 setup... On top of that, a Street Twin
I don't launch the car, but I was planning on getting on it from a roll every then and again. 1st through 4th/5th... haha have some fun with it.
My question is, I know these stock items aren't the strongest, but how well should they hold up with all this power? I drive the car everyday so I know I gotta take it easy... but how easy do I have to take it?
If I get an 03/04 Cobra to rev at me somewhere... I want to shake that bastard down... haha
Just wondering what you guys think about these parts.
They need to last at least 9-10 months... and since Winter is coming up, I don't see to much traction happening...

Re: stock T56, stock ds, and stock rear...
A stated above, your street tires will loose traction long before your drivetrain fails. It's the drivetrain shock of dumping the clutch at 5K rpm with ET Streets and a well prepped track that kill rearends and driveshafts. The T56 is robust, although the 3rd gear fork fails wih speed shifting.
Re: stock T56, stock ds, and stock rear...
My car has seen the track 4 times, several runs each time. Many months later with street abuse, my rear end now whines like some of my ex-girlfriends did. All of this on street tires, and ask anyone about Orlando Speed World, the worst prepped track in the Southeast. Give it some time, if you drive your car then the rear end will go.

How bad did you beat the car? I would only get on it maybe once/twice a day... and race only every now and then. I never launch the car and would only do roll races... think that'll increase its longevity?

i have about 350rwhp and 10 bolt with 4.10's and i broke them on the 1-2 with street tires on the street. all the people who say that you wont break them on the street, well take them with a grain of salt. is it rare? yes. but can it happen? yes
edit: i dont even have a street twin, its just an slp clutch

Well, make sure and get the proper set. I'm talking preload. You want about .050". I've seen guys running over .010" preload. Not very smart. You want that sucker tight.
Thats how I broke my 2nd rear end. Too much play.
The first one broke due to wheel hop I think. Which is why a suspension upgrade is not a bad idea,..... to prevent wheel hop..... to prevent your rear end from going KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
