Err you wanted the cheapest. Get the rear rebuilt then I guess.
There are several threads on the "Drivetrain" forum that discuss the options for replacing the stock 10-bolt, including the Strange/Dana 60. Try a "search" on that forum. In the meantime, I'll move your post over there, since this forum is for LT1/LT4 Engine Tech.
As mentioned above, a stock replacement is the cheapest way to go, but if you are launching it hard, then it is most likely a waste of time and money. There are plenty of people driving 400+HP cars on stock rearends, but they have to baby them. You will have to look into some sort of aftermarket alternative whether it be a 12-bolt, 9-inch, or Dana 60.
My buddy ran his stock rear into the 11.3's @ 12X. M6's shock them harder than autos, but I shattered some Richmond 3.73's with just bolt on's, stall, and street tires. Its usually a toss up.

Yea its pretty much a crap shoot. I hear of people with lightly modded A4's blowing them up and I knew a guy with a procharged 383 M6 still running the stock 10-bolt on slicks and it was fine. Just drive it till it breaks, then replace it.
