stock rear end
stock rear end
does anyone know where i can get a price for a new stock 10 bolt rear end for a 96 camaro? i need a quote for repair reasons. and please dont reply with "just get a 12 bolt" that what i'm trying to do.
buddy blew his a bit ago, turned out to be about 500 more to get the moser then then to buy all the parts and have it put in.
unless you found somone parting a car.
best best is still a tranny shop around you.

Do you need to get a quote for a brand new one or for a newly rebuilt one? I assume your doing this for insurance reasons but I'm not sure how they work. Try calling a dealer to see about new prices. If you can even get em from there I'd bet they'll be the highest price(which is what you want). If your looking for rebuilding prices just call around your local rebuild shops. Not too many people are looking to get a new 10 bolt. You gotta understand there's not much demand for em, especially new.
yeah i know thats probably why the part numbers i have dont come up anywhere and why its being such a pain in the *** to find one. i found a price on some obscure web site but i dont trust that site and i need an actual quote from like a dealer or something.
Call up your chevy dealer. They will be able to give you a quote. It probably isnt that cheap. Id guess like 1200 or so, you might even be able to get the guy quote you with posi and milk it for some more money. That should put you rather close to the 1800 for the 12 bolt.
unless you can give me a specific deal it wont work. i called one and he said they can only get me one by piecing it out and doing it piece by piece would cost like 4 grand. the posi and housing alone are 800 each.
any rear end is going to cost you $$$$$, unless you find someone with a rear they just pulled after putting a 12bolt in
then they'll let them go for couple hundred. If you are talking a brand new one from GM i would say over a grand.......if you are talking a re-built one with new gears, posi, etc........prob $800 that's using old axles (a lot of that is setting up the gears......install kills)
