Stock LT-1 Car Pulls Through the Brakes
Stock LT-1 Car Pulls Through the Brakes
Okay, not sure if this should go in the LT-1 or drivetrain forum -- I reckon I'll try drivetrain...
When my car is in drive and I'm sitting at a stoplight, it really tries to pull through the brakes. I have to keep some serious pressure on the brake pedal to keep the car from rolling forward.
The idle is fine -- pretty steady at about 850 RPM, the brakes seem to work fine, don't pull to either side and have plenty of material left. The pedal feels firm and there's no excessive travel.
It get's a little annoying in city traffic. Can this be traced to a problem, or am I just not used to driving an automatic? (This is the first automatic I've owned in about 20 years)
Thanks,
Finn

Re: Stock LT-1 Car Pulls Through the Brakes
850 sounds a bit high for idle in D. should be closer to 650. Is this from a scan tool or tach? tach can be about 200 rpm high.
