Re: stalled A4 vs. M6

With a good driver, and no fear of breaking anything (tranny, driveshaft, gears) the M6 should give the stalled auto a damned good run. For an "average" pair of drivers, the stalled auto will likely take the win. This may even be true of 2 bone stock cars (because often stick drivers can't run the cars to their full potential).

But, put 2 competent drivers, and I think it would be darn close?

^ yup. Depends on the driver. Mechanically, they're pretty equal. Slight advantage for the stall though...IMHO.

Re: stalled A4 vs. M6

assuming you could get traction past 3,000 rpm wouldnt the M6 have the advantage if you held it above the auto stall. also doesnt the M6 retain a little more percent of hp to the wheels. assuming the shifts were dead on id say the M6 has atleast some advantages.

That M6 has almost a 25 hp advantage, about 8%, with the losses through the converter and A4. On street tires that is probably 8% more likely to spin but a definite advantage to the stick.
