Stall do more than lower 60' time?

Does a stall only help by lowering your 60' times or does it help out someway else? I heard that it keeps your RPMs up higher when it shifts. My best time so far is a 13.5 at 101 with a 2.0 60' but most of my times range 13.6-13.7 at 98-100. Do you think at 3600 RPM stall would get me into the 12's?

No... 13.2xx's maybe... add some 3.73's and the stall you'll prolly see some 12.8xx's maybe better.

Of course that along with a sticky tire... seeing something in the 1.8xx-1.7xx 60' area.

Well in my opinion it will greatly depend on the converter you get to get in the 12's. A stall mostly helps on the 60' time and some say a higher stall decreases your MPH but in my personal experiences I have not seen it. I was running a consistant 13.7 at 106MPH. I then upgraded my stock stall to a 3000 Edge converter, I switched from SLP shorty's to Pacesetter longtubes and put on some sticky tires and I now am running a best of 12.36 at 109 on 1.71 60' time.

Yea, I agree...there really is a big difference in converter quality and performance gains between certain brands......it's crazy how many guys I've seen get rid of their stock converter for a cheap shelf type TCI 3000 stall converter and pick up 2-3 tenths total....then they later switch to an Edge or Vigilante converter and pick up another 2-3 tenths and a couple more MPH........spend the cash and get a good one, "preferably" one custom built for your cars "exact" combo.....I've also had great results with the Edge units.......Fair Prices, and good customer service as well..............Joe
