stall and daily driving?

Im going to be buying a vigilante 2800 torque converter and was wondering what it was like to drive that everyday on the street. I have never driven a car with a TC so can someone explain what it even feels like in the car. thanks.

i have a 3300 vig, with 2.73 gears, and it really drives the same. it still pulls off around 1200. I dont see any problem that you would have.

I run a 2800stall Edge in my daily driver Caprice fine even with 2.93 gears. Before this I had a different brand still 9.5" but 2600rpm stall and it drove like crap. The key to drivability with a higher stall TC is to get it from a good company which Vigilante is. Edge does things a tad different and tends to set the STR a bit higher which is great for drivability, can make traction tough though , mine also stays amazingly cool.

i had a vig 2800 in my old car, it was a blast. the main difference you will notice is that when you let your foot off the brake it wont take off like it used to, it just slowly starts rolling, also, when you are barely giving it throttle it seems kind of sluggish, but man it is a blast once you get used to it. i will own another stalled auto

A 2800 Vig feels just fine on the street. I have one in mine right now...it's the fourth converter I've had in the car (stock, then 2400 S10, then restalled 3000 S10, then 2800 Vig) and it's the best one out of the bunch. Very tight, very streetable, and very fun. You'll be happy with it for sure.

I thought a tranny cooler wasn't necessary for anything under a 3000 stall. Although, it sure doesn't hurt.

i just put a 2500 12" in mine and it is a PITA!! my brother and i did it with ramps on the front and stands on the rear and it was not fun. i hope you have a lift i have heard it is much easier that way. i combined it with the trans go shift kit and a new pan. it can be done but again set aside your whole weekend and have a buddy around to help. i also believe very much in doing all my own work whenever possible. you wont really know if it was installed correctly if you pay a shop to do it. if you dont mind a shameless plug get the trans go shift kit. it is awesome. if you do it yourself send me a pm and i can at least give you some phone support if you need it.

The guy who put my headers on only charged me $400 (first lt1 header swap he's done) when I went to pick up the car he said "never again"

I'm kinda regretting not doing the headers myself.
