Stall converter help, suggestions

My car has a 224/236 cam @.050 and .555/.565 lift @ 114. I have a 342 rear gear. This is street driven only, not raced. What size stall speed converter should I go with? Thanks for any suggestions, Troy.

How do you drive? conservatively?, moderately?, moderately aggressive?, or
aggressive? This has a lot to do with what stall you might want/need. Do you do straight line acceleration, or more of a road race style of driving on the street?

This car is rarely driven. When I do get on it, Its in a sraight line. I never plan on road racing. I guess I need a stall because, When the car is in park and I go to put it in gear (with foot on brake). it wants to lunge forward. Will the stall cure this??? Thanks for the help, Troy.

A higher than normal idle will cause this. Yes, the smaller diameter torque converter will soften the hit from park to drive. I wouldn't go to a smaller diameter torque converter just for this reason. You want a stall that matches the cam, how you drive, etc. I would recommend a stall from just what you told me at around 2,600-2,800 rpm.

The hardest part is getting to the bellhousing bolts. Other than that, it's a pretty straightforward job. I can swap mine out in about 2 hours and I'm pretty slow. I have some friends who can do it in around an hour. There used to be a write-up online, but I can't find it anymore......

Edit: found the write-up:
