ST and stock rear?

ST and stock rear?
Well, I've done some searching and come up with the conclusion that the crowd seems split on this combo. Some say it will take out the stock rear with slicks and high rpm launches while others say as long as you drive more like a grandma and use street tires, you should be alright. So I'll figure i'll ask before I place my order.
My reasoning behind choosing the ST is that it seems to be one of the most problem free clutches out there (besides the fact it holds power) and everything comes with it. I considered a spec stage 3, but i rather not try my luck. I also looked at the spec stage 4, but it is probably not as streetable as the ST and buy the time you add in a new flywheel and master cylinder, its only a little more for the ST.
So my question is, will my rear go if i install this clutch? I'm not much of a drag racer, more of a crusier at the moment (144,xxx miles currently with i/h/e, but hopefully a rebuild next year).
Thanks

If you plan to stay a "crusier", the ST is an overkill. Don't get me wrong, it's a great clutch (I have one) but it's expensive if you not going to use it's clamping force.
IMO shock is what destroys the stock rears. Sticky tires and hard launches. If you don't shock the rear, it will last you with whatever clutch setup you use.

You're limited as to how much stress you can put on the rear on the street with street tires. At the track, you can generate a lot more force, especially with sticky tires. As OBE1 95Z28 said, it's the shock that destroys the rear.
