Squeak when cornering
Squeak when cornering
I have a squeak when cornering that I can't pin point. I have had the rear end rebuilt and new rotors and ceramic brake pads all the way around. The only thing i can think of is the bearing units on the front wheels. I have a hard time teling exactlly where it's coming from. Any other idea's?
I know that this is old, and no one has replied yet, but I have the same problem. Mine squeaks when I make a hard left turn, and it sounds like it's coming from the right front. I never had the problem until I replaced the brakes last year though.
Would anyone have any ideas on what it could be, or how to see if the front hub bearings may be going out?

It was the brake change. Same thing happened to me. I heard it as did my mechanic as I was leaving. He waved me in, dremeled a bit of the ear off the drivers side rear caliper and it never happpened again. He said the aftermarket drilled rotors must have been a hair outsized.
Hope that helps.

I did some more research, and that seems to be the easy fix. I left the factory shims on, and they were in good shape, so the rotor must be a little larger. I'll have to tear it apart on my axle bearing change (fun!) and clearance everything then.
