well there would be no free wheel for the trans downside would be more drag resistance and heat generated on coast bot the plus is definatly better et and lower loss through the converter

Thanks but i cant get this togheter If i get more drag resistance and building more heat, wouldnt that get me more loss in the converter?

drag resistance is only on decel not at throttle , normally with the sprag the converter turbines more or less get to free wheel when you are coasting but the will not spragless , So what I ment was you will generate more heat for instace rolling down a hill or decelerating not when you are accelerating.

OK that explaines "more heat", Can you also explaine how it will lead to lower ET? i belived that the sprag worked like a rollerbearing when you accelerate and i guess that the sprag is replaced widh a roller bearing in a "spragless" converter...
thanks...

Damn, a 'glide in a car as heavy as a 4th gen?? Curious as to how it works out. I'd go for a TH400 for sure. Let us know. I don't know sprags from spaghetti though, so I can't offer any thoughts on this one.

Makes sense at that weight. But I do wonder if it would be quicker with a 3-speed?
