Speedo Gear Housing, 40-45 stock?

Bought a set of 3.73s, going to try and get them installed with in the next few weeks. From what I under stand I need a 15 tooth drive gear and a 44 tooth driven gears to correct the speedometer. My question is, will I need to change the actually speedometer gear housing in the transmission it self? The trans place I ordered the speedo gears from couldn't tell me if I had a 34-39 or 40-45 housing, I don't recall ever hearing having to swap the housing but just want to make sure.

Yes, there are 2 different housings. Is this for your '93 4L60? If so, you've already got the 40-up housing. Also remember, the '93 doesn't use a traditional driven speedo gear. It's partially electronic and partially mechanical. It uses an electronic sender with a mechanical gear. the gear doesn't use a traditional shaft. It slides on the electronic sender.

Yep, this is for the 93 in my sig. The shop doing the gears messes a lot with the third gen cars so their tech whos doing the gear install knew what I was talking about with the speedo gears. Most other places were kinda like wtf, I guess their used to repgraming the computer for gear swaps.
