I took my 1994 z28 to a tranny shop to have the codes scaned. It came back as a bad shift solonoide (hope I spelled that right). I was wondering if they can go bad or do I need a new tranny. The shop wants to rebuild the tranny. Times are hard and I don't won't to spend any useless money. These parts are elec and I do know elec parts where out. Am I lookin at a tranny rebuild or can I change the bad parts ???????

Changing a shift solenoid normally only requires you to remove the transmisison pan. Your code should tell you which one.
