soft grinding

whenever i am at low rpm (1800 and lower) there seems to be a soft grinding noise. It happens when i release the clutch in 1st and when slowing to 20 in 2nd and hitting gas past the turn. only happens at low rpms when i hit the gas. is this normal or is there something wrong. im new to the camaro(6 speed)

Re: soft grinding

sounds to me like just the gears making noise. straight cut gears hold more power...but are noisier.

it's a trade off.

may just be the harmonic frequency that you are picking up, or just the car gets quiet enough to actualy pick up the noise
