So, any solutions to the clutch fork grinding on the pressure plate?

..other than grinding on the clutch fork? I just installed a new Mcleod clutch disc and when I started the car the grinding began. It only happens when the pedal is pressed.

I had the flywheel surfaced but they only took .003 off. The pressure plate and throwout bearing are the same. I did change out the pinion bearing with a bushing. Basically no changes except for changing the disc and now it is grinding.

Anyway, after a few searches the only real solution I've seen is to grind on the fork a bit. Any other solutions or known causes to this problem.

Oh yeah, big thanks to the guy who did this page..

Even though i dont have a Spec, the info at the bottom was very helpful.

Re: So, any solutions to the clutch fork grinding on the pressure plate?

I had this happen once and the cause of it was that the fork is not fully engaged into the TO bearing. it rubbed the outer part of the PP and evenually the bottom of the fork got jammed in that small aluminum cover that holds the rod in place. I had to pry it out with a screwdriver and then re install the fork the correct way. That what happens when other people want to "help" you with your hobby.

Mine did it after both clutch installs but went away after 5 minutes of driving...

be careful how much material comes off. You may get an inbalance in the PP
