Slipping clutch? Vibration?

About 6-7k miles after I installed a new clutch (LT4PP, stock LT1 disc, surfaced stock LT1 flywheel) I started getting a strange vibration whenever I'd bring the speed/revs up to about 80-90mph/3-4k rpms. This vibration wasn't always there. Sometimes when I'd floor it things would be smooth.

Now.. this morning on my way in to work the tranny started acting like the clutch was slipping/missing. I glanced at the revs and while this slipping was happening the revs would tick down about 100rpms then go back to normal. This was all over in 4th/5th/6th gear. What is going on here? Is oil getting on my clutch? Is the clutch going out early? I haven't been hard on this new clutch at all.

EDIT: I floored it in 6th gear going down the freeway and the revs didn't shoot around or anything. Gear shifting is fine as well. I can shift into any gear easily.

EDIT2: There also was a noticable burnt clutch smell.

P.s. - Move this to drive train forum if necessary.

Re: Slipping clutch? Vibration?

the 80-90mph vibration sounds a LOT like an out of balance driveshaft. could have lost a balancing weight, or it could be out of angle when tranny was remounted or if tranny mount was changed. if neither, an aluminum 1LE or LS1 driveshaft will be way better than if you still have a steel ds.
