Slave cylinder install help

I am in the process of putting in a new GM master/slave cylinder unit I have one question. There is a white plastic strap attached to the slave cyinder I am not sure if I am to cut it off or is it suppose to stay on there for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Scott

You cut the straps off, and leave the little cap on the end of the piston...

You don't have to cut those straps. They are on there for an easy 1st install. If you don't cut them off, its easier to install the slave cylinder, and the first time you step on the clutch pedal (after everything's installed), those straps will break. That's how they are put in from the factory (with the straps intact). If you already cut them off, no big deal, its just a little harder to install. Also, use some grease on the plastic cap of the piston, where it goes into that dimple in the clutch fork.
