Question Sign Of Bad Ring and Pinion?

OK guys, Heres the scenario: When I press on the gas there is a howling noise that comes from my rearend, loudest around 30-40 MPH. Also, I hear a clicking noise when the car shifts into 1st gear, and sometimes second, too. And, when I put the car into reverse or drive there is a rubbery sound like a bushing rubbing against metal. Are these signs of a bad ring and pinion? Initially what led to this was a bad pinion seal, and the rearend ran pretty dry for a little while. I would appreciate any help.

If you have howling when you are on or off the gas, your ring and pinion are causing it. Time for a new set. You will probably want to redo everything inside if you ran that low on lube.
