should I switch to a 2,800 stall?

I had a 3,000 stall worked good untill one trip to the track then it started hitting the revlimiter in 1st then going to 3rd.. Then I had the trans rebuilt (broke at part) and went to a 3,200 stall and still now luck with the shifting.. I even have tride tuning.Should I just pull the stall out and have it restalled to 2,800 so this thing will shift... I also tride a maunal 3 speed kit from trans go but Its not working right.. dont know whats up with it.. The guys that built the trans said they could make it full manual valvebody all the time... Think that would work?? Just wondering what to do.. Thanks Sean

I have been fighting this problem for years as have many.

A buddy and I came up with the OBD-II fix. Has worked fine for us.

To do this order a 96-97 PCM setup for your car I few codes will need turned off. You can do it with LT1 Edit or just order a PCM ready to go.

Good luck

For info on what I have done to get by this My mod list is in my Sig

I'd just go back to the 2,800. Especially with you spraying out of the hole. I think it would be easier than switching over to OBDII, although I have no clue what all that consists of! Whatever you do decide, do it quick, I want to see that thing make ONE FULL NITROUS PASS with no hickups!! Good luck bro!!

Joe.

Hi All,

I had the same thing happen and I only have a 2400 stall converter with the engine making plenty of torque. I am swapping in a th400 with a 4200 stall this fall.

well its not every day you find one of them used. they are 2g's by them selves..Ion is working with me on the PCM and I will give it a try its a plug and play deal the only down side is I have to buy a 200 dollor software to scan it...

I have mine set at 6600 and it still bangs limiter.....I am on stock stall.....All I have done is changed the fluid to cause the shifting issues....Not the OBD -1 high stall just the 2-3 banging limiter problem

That sounds like the trans is going bad.

used to have 2500 stall
since thelast time i was here i went to a 3500
had teh rev limit prod again. i changed teh shift points to right under rev limit. i shift pretty quick but it works well becouse i keep the rpm in peak hp range.
