Short Throw Shifter

I was looking at the SLP short throw shifter and the B&M shifter the SLP is priced significantly lower. I definitely need a short throw. Does any one have any info or suggestions on either of these?

The "Ripper" Is the BEST shifter you can buy. Don't waste your time with the SLP.

I'll agree with that. I have the factory hurst in my 02 now and the Ripper that I put in my 91 was way better feeling.

Re: Short Throw Shifter

The factory Hurst is NOT the same as the SLP or Hurst Billet Plus. Everyone I've talked to who actually used the Billet + or SLP really liked them. The only ones I've heard say anything negative about them are the ones that don't know they are NOT the stock Hurst or are still running the stock lever.

I've also heard many say the B&M Ripper sucks too. Whether it is the best is VERY debatable. I've read to many negatives about them to buy one.

People rave about the Pro 5.0, but it feels notchy.

I would argue that. I've had both a B&M and a Pro 5.0. The B&M is by far better than stock or SLP IMO. I would rate it a close 2nd with the 5.0 being at the top. If short is what you want get the 5.0 and put a Lou's short stick on it....you will be extremely happy!!

Re: Short Throw Shifter

I love the Pro 5! Short throw and precise shifts... what else could ya want? 2-3 is cakewalk when compared to the stock setup. Let us know what ya choose and how ya like it.

I picked one up w/an offset spacer off ebay for under half that. UMI also sells a short stick.
