In 1st gear I have to hold it in until I move off a little and it pops in. When I move I feel pressure pushing the gear out but then it pops it b/c I am holding it with some force. If I don't it just slides out with a grind. Down shifting to second I occasionally have to hold it also, but it doesn't pop in like first. If I don't occasionally it will do the same thing as far as slide out with a grind. It is a high pitch sounding grinding like something is scratching on a spinning surface. BTW I have a Pro 5.0 shifter that was installed when I purchased the car. The problem kind of existed when I first got the car, but I thought it was me not paying attention. I actually made the problem worse when I was downshifting to what I thought was 3rd, but it was 1st. WHOA...not a cool feeling when the wheels locked up.
