shifter question

It would appear I don't have the factory hurst option in my car and I'm starting to get sick of rowing a boat to.shift gears. I have a b&m in my vette and love it! It has a very notchy feel so it feels like a race shifter. Who has what and what's your opinion?

Re: shifter question

I started with a Hurst Comp Plus, then switched to the Pro5.0 after driving a friend's 99SS. The Pro5.0 was vastly superior to the Hurst. That was while the car still had the stock T56.

My previous Camaro had the B&M Ripper shifter, my current Camaro has the pro 5.0. I like them both, the Pro 5.0 has shift stops on the ring, to help relieve the internal stops on the T-56, so it gets my vote. Both good quality shifters though, either should give you the "feel" you are looking for

Re: shifter question

What was your complaint of the comp plus? I was eye ballin one for $100. I got to play with a b&m but it didn't feel like my vette. Is the pro 50 a smooth but shorter throw or is it a true race shifted?

Re: shifter question

I had troubles on the 2->3 shift..... hit 1st a couple times. Just seemed too loose. The Pro5.0 had better centering, and a crisper feel.
