Shifter loose somehow?

I posted this over in the Lounge too to try and get a quick answer, but I'm still confused...

So I took my RS out for the last ride of the year, and coming off the highway I put it in 4th...no problem. Slid it into neutral...no problem. Went to put it in second at the base of the ramp to go around a rotary, and nothing...the shifter flops around in my hand as if its not connected to anything!!! Go into second, and the shifter flops all the way over against the console!! I just put a Pro 5.0 in it back in September, and I'm sitting here wondering if something came loose? You pull up on the shifter and it doesn't appear to be disconnected at all...maybe the end of it broke?

This ever happen to anyone else? I had it towed to the dealer I work at...thankfully it happened during the day, right down the street, and not late at night when I usually take it out. I just hope nothing broke in the tranny

Did you check the allen-head bolts that hold the Pro 5.0 stick to the shifter stub? They are notorious for coming loose. I had to tighten them with an allen-head socket on a long ratchet handle, using thread locker to get them to stay tight.

I had the same problem...but mine fell out while down shifting to come off the highway...not fun getting it into gear with your fingers.

I had to do the same thing that Injuneer did....tighten them down really good with a lot of leverage.
