shift kit question..

does a pcm tuner, such as diablo or superchips, do the same thing as a shift kit? which will help increase the life of the tranny? what does the tuner do to make the transmission shift hard like one with a shift kit?

Re: shift kit question..

The tuners just increase line pressure, a shift kit modifies the valve body.
I would install a Trans Go shift kit. Increasing line pressure is just a band aid in my opinion.

Re: shift kit question..

so a tuner really isn't as good for the transmission as a shift kit is?

Re: shift kit question..

Also, I believe I read that shift kits will better oil the gears when in OD.

From my conclusions, then would you be able to shift into OD should you ever really need do at full throttle?
