shift kit q's

is a shift kit worth the money? How much time will it shave off of my 1/4 mile in my 96 z28?

I would say just for the fun factor a shift kit is well worth it.
You would probably see a gain but not that much from just a shift kit.
I put in 3.73s and a trans go shift kit at the same time and if felt like a completely different car.
Way more fun.

Sometimes the Trans-Go Shift kit can help with ET, but it mainly helps the transmission to live longer, by fixing slow shifts, addressing accumulation, increasing capacity, etc. (when installed correctly).

B & M shift improver kit = $25- $30, and if you tranny has been a little slow between shifts, it could help your ET a little. As said it does help the trans live longer by raising certain pressures clamping a little harder. You can improve it more by adding a larger Corvette servo and tuning the governor.
I like those tire chirping shifts!...
