which shift kit for my 700r4?

and yes ,I do have a 700r4 from a 3rd gen. not the 4L60e.

whats the diff. between the summit kit for $140 TRG-700 or the ebay one for $81 th700R4 2&3? is the only diff. the video? I dont really need that. Id rather pay for the more expensive one if it has more hard parts (I see the gaskets, correct drill bits, 2 and 4 apply pistons (I think thats whats in the pic on summits site. Ive seen this kit for the 4L60E (looks exactly like whats in the 700r4 kit) and the box on the ebay site is totaly different. the summit kit is very nice in that all the parts are in seperate bags inside the package. I thought that was very nice touch to simplify the process.

The summit kit for $140 TRG-700 has the Video, Corvette servo & both intermediate & main boost valves, The 700-2-3 does not have these. My "modified" Trans-Go Performance Shift kit has everything that the summit kit has except the video, and I add the upgraded Viton 2nd & 4th apply seals. I add the Trans-Go 2nd gear accumulation for smoother part throttle shifts, governor feed & front pump filters, and the Torlon checkballs to replace the steel checkballs that damage the valve body plate. This should do the job for you. Let me know if I can be of help?

do you guys use the corvette servo, or those expensive (fairbanks?) 2 and 4 servo?

this trans is prolly gonna get the cheaper kit, since this is not my permanent trans. it doesnt have all the upgrades in it, just perf. clutch's, pump, boostvalves, and it'll get the servo's and shift kit. in spring I'll be selling it, but in the mean time, I'll start collecting parts for my real trans, that I hope to live behind my motor and nitrous. should be mid10's by then Id assume. but I doubt I'll put more then 100 hit on it right now due to the crappy 7 5/8 gears. 12 runs in the low 1.6's sixties and the gears are already starting to howl. time for a 9".

if I do end up getting the 2&3 kit since I already have the boost valves, and dont need the video, I'll repost on this thread what exactly is left out from the TRG-700 kit besides the video, boost valves, and servo's. but I will get the best kit I can find for my next trans hopefully in january or febuary.
thanks for the help.

probuilt, about those check *****, what keeps those check ***** from self destructing instead of the plate? I khow how the steel ***** can/will beat up the holes in teh plate, but wouldnt that just mess up the ***** instead overtime?

The Torlon checkballs have been used in Fords & some Mopars for over 20 years without problems. If you already have some of the parts that come in the Performance Shift kit, I can deduct the cost of those parts when you get the Shift kit. No sense in buying what you already have.
