Servo Cover Snap Ring Help!!!!!
Servo Cover Snap Ring Help!!!!!
Ok I just got done installing my shift kit and now I can't get the snap ring to go back on the servo cover. I pried the cover all the way in and got the ends started but i can't get the top to snap in. I tired lowering the trans and it didn't do me any good. Does anyone have any adivce on how to get this stupid ring back in? Thanks
Re: Servo Cover Snap Ring Help!!!!!
All I can say is I feel your pain. I don't know of any quick tips that will make it easier besides maybe two sets of hands. Have someone else pry in on the cover and you can use both of your hands to try to get the ring back in the groove. I just did the 'ole transgo last week. I'm sure glad I don't have to do that again anytime soon!
Re: Servo Cover Snap Ring Help!!!!!
Which shift kit did you install? If you are using the Trans-Go, then go back to the instructions & you will find that you added to many spacers to the apply servo, to take up the band clearance. You should have about .050 - .060 clearance.

I did manage to get it all back together with both spacers in there, then when I checked the clearance through the slot in the bottom of the case, I found that it was in fact too tight and had to take one of the spacers out and put the servo back together. Quite a PITA!
