Richmond gears

Just put in a used Auburn posi. & USED>>>>richmond 3.73 swapped from a 2002 Fbody asr to a Fbody antilock rear end , checked the pinion to ring mesh and it looked good, backlash was also good. I did not set the pinion to ring depth, just thought GM would be pretty consistent with their castings. It whines on accel and deccel pretty noticeable, are Richmond gears this noisy?

Some gear whine should be expected from Richmond gears, they are racing gears.

Normal for Richmound gears due to the gear cutting. A racing gear not designed for normal street use. Didn't you read all the info in the gear description??

no crying here man it was free and so was the auburn posi unit, I am sure the previous owner read the instructions I just read the install setup online and did all that, just want to make sure I did it right and make sure the whining is going to be ok and not destroy anything
