Question Replacing Clutch....Need recommendations

Hey guys,

My dad needs to replace his clutch on his '02 Z28 pretty soon. He wanted me to do research as to which one he should buy.

We're looking at best bang for the buck here type of thing...who makes a good quality clutch for our cars and is the price good? Price range goes up to about $450-$500. It's mainly a lightly-modded highway driver(look in sig) but he said he wants something that will hook-up real good.

Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You could get a Z06 form paceparts for under 400
but if he burnt up a 02 clutch in that short of time,
he may need something heavier.
Just out of curiosity, if he's a highway driver what
happened to the first one.

'01-'02 V8 F-bodies came with the Z06 clutch from the factory.

I can only tell you about the SPEC stg III. The price is good and grabs like a **** but it's a little rough for daily (stop and go) driving. If he's driving mostly highway though, he might be alright with it.
IMO, give the stage II a shot. I'm sure it'll hold just fine but will be a lot easier to slip (if you want to keep it smooth) than a stage III.

www.motorsporttech (MTI) has a Z06 clutch kit that includes the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel for $425.

There is also a drivetrain section that this would go in. Try there and maybe you'll get more help.

Might wanna check out Ram clutches, I love mine, and they're not very expensive. Good for stock/lightly modded cars.
