reluctor needed?

Im new to the camaro scene, just bought mine about a month ago...before I had a 96 impala that i did some modifications too, and when i swapped the gears i remember having to swap the reluctors as well...I have a 99z28 M6 im lookin to swap from the 3.42's to 4.10's and havent seen anyone or any stickie mentioning the need for a reluctor swap?...is this needed?...I know when I did my impala the reluctor needed for the 4.10's had a different number of teeth than the reluctor for the stock 3.08's

Re: reluctor needed?

no need for a DIFFERENT reluctor.
If you're not changing carrier, the reluctor ring stays on and doesn't interfere with the gear swap.
If you were changing to a different 'posi' carrier, you would just remove the ring and install on the replacement carrier.
Word of caution:don't damage the ring as they are no longer available.
