Questions concerning fuel pump and filter.
Questions concerning fuel pump and filter.
Long story short: My car has been cutting off while driving. I thought it was ignition related because I could let the car cool, and then crank it back up. I mounted the coil off of the aluminum blower bracket and there was no change. I got busy with other things and the car sat in the driveway for a year or so.
Now, I'm ready to get it going again. I pulled off the fuel supply line at the fuel rail and turned the key. Barely a drop. I can hear the pump running. I went back to the filter and took the line off going into the filter. It wasn't a gush when I turned the key. More like a weak stream. I then took the filter off and tried to blow through it. A lot of resistance trying to do that. Not blocked, but not free flowing by far. I also turned the key to see if the pump flow had improved since I had removed the filter. It definitely seemed better but I'm not sure what 255lph looks like.
I've already received my new walbro pump. However, it's a pita to remove the tank and I don't want to cut a hole in the car.
Do I just suck it up and do both? The walbro in it currently has been in for 4-5 years.

You have two options here - take 20 minutes and cut the hole or drop the tank. When done properly the fuel pump hatch is hands down the best. You'll thank yourself. Heck, had you done it 4 or 5 years ago...

Re: Questions concerning fuel pump and filter.
Guess I'll get a new filter and check it again. If it's still low, then new pump time. The hardest part(buying it) is done.
Re: Questions concerning fuel pump and filter.
I am getting ready to cut the hole, man I love my car.I dont drive my car i where it.I am changing the filter in the morning.useing the cut off wheel.air tool.I much rather do that then, disturb the dull exaust and the filler neck for the tank.
