Rebuilding my 4L60

I have a 93 TA, 71K miles on it, doing a cam and gas set up, dont think the stock trans will live along time. Right now it has a Vigi 3200 and works perfect, car 60fts low 1.7s on an old set of DRs. Its a full weight car, plan on putting a/c back in it, eventually do a 12 bolt with 3.73s. I plan on using a window switch for the gas, to try to keep it alive but on a 150 shot, thats a lot of power for a stock trans to take, so I wont be surprised if it dies. My question is the 4L60 worth rebuilding, I get on the internet and see people with built 4L60s lasting and going pretty fast. How ever in real life, I have seen to many friends spend a lot of money on built trans from reputable builders and they are nothing but problems. Lot of them end up going the Th350 and Th400 route and run really fast with them and they don't break them. Plenty of friends have gone mid high 9s, low 10s with out issues. Over drive is nice but id the 4L60 worth it, I really haven't made my mind up. I am also worried about getting one built thats not local.

They must have not had us build them. Yes, the 4L60 can be built to hold up and last, if WE build it. I can't vouch for anyone else. I see too masny people claiming to build great things from their A4's, but very few have much to back it up. If you try a search for us, you'll find many of our customers running extremely quick times.

Also, remember a 4L60 (700) will usually out 60 ft. a Th350 or TH400, because it has a far more superior 3.08 1st gear. A Th400 will slow you down even more because it takes more HP to turn. If you need a 4L60 that's going to work and last, give me a call. 302-250-1202

Thanks,
Frank

just put a glide in it...but yes 4l60e can be built and its great that people are actually wanting to use them in race apps now becuase the aftermarket is picking up on them now and making better parts for them as a personal builder i have had the 4l60 behind a 434 with 610 hp and 22" tires and held up well on an 85 chevy 1500

Could I use a 700R4 converter, shift kit, and filter in a '93 4L60? I bought this stuff to put in my '88 IROC but it caught fire and now I have a '93 that needs a rebuild.
