Angry rear goes boom

Well the Z is down again. This time it’s the rear. It has been whining for a few weeks now and in the past few days it has gotten really loud. So loud that I feel it is unsafe to drive the car. It mostly wines when the car is in gear and I am off the gas. The front joint is also leaking. I know that with my future setup and probably my current setup (street twin) I will need a 12 bolt. But I don’t have the cash right now. So is there anything I can do right now for cheep to get this puppy back up and running. This temp solution only has to last for a few months.

Thanks again

Any local auto store like NAPA, PAPA, FISHER auto parts should have both bearings in stock. You will be better and cheaper off to buy a install kit fron Summit, Jegs that has the pinon bearings with it all ready because you will want to replace the pinon seal and crush sleave while your at it also.

This will require you to completely disassemble you rear !!

You might as well put a set of gears while your in their because a shop will charge you the same $$ to install new gears or fix your old ones.

Total $$= 400-600 depending on who you know.

the grears are fine. and this is to jsut temp hold me over till i get the $$ for a 12 bolt. if it is going to cost 500+ then the car is going to sit till i get the other 1200 . there is no sence in puthing that much $$ into a rear that will never be able to do what i want it to do
