Rear end question

I searched and couldn't find it....

I saw one time where someone had taken a 8.8 rear end apart, and found out that our axle tubes were the same size as a 8.8 and that we had the same splines as the 8.8.

I thought that they had built a budget rear end for our cars, and it was strong. Of course, it was a DIY, with several different things to do, but still, I'd like to know if someone has done this before. If they have, post the parts that we need and I'd like to attempt to build one.

Thanks

D Moss

I have heard of people swapping in 8.8 inch rear ends from Mustangs into F-bodies. Run a search on the net and I'm sure something will pop up.

there ya go. if you do that i would also suggest C-clip eliminators for the 8.8, no point to do all that work and catch traction only to have the weakest link in the drivetrain go out
