rear end help

I have a manual transmission LT1 95 TA. The 7 1/2 inch rear end blew up possi and gears. I want to go to a 9 in. Ford. The only way I know how to do this is to go through Currie ent. dont know what possi unit to use. They suggested true track which is a gear to gear. Im going to get 4 -10 gears but not sure what is best for the possi unit. They said Detroit locker would ratchet around corners, mostly used for street racing and drag racing. Any suggestions!

Re: rear end help

What kind of HP are you pushing? Unless you are making 800HP or more, the 12-bolt would probably be a better choice.... Strange or Moser. For a 9-inch, Moser or Currie. The issues with the 9-inch include:

-limited options on limited slip
-no 3-channel ABS
-pinion shaft offset (lower and to one side of centerline) complicate driveshaft geometry

Then there are issues of more weight, more gear losses, sway bar fitment, tunnel clearnce, etc. Nothing that can't be done, but its not as direct a "bolt-in" as a 12-bolt.
