Re: rear end gears???????

At 70MPH, you will see the following approx. RPM in 6th gear:

3.42 - 1,580 rpm
3.73 - 1,725 rpm
4.10 - 1,895 rpm

It will vary slightly, based on actual rolling diameter of your tires.

You're going to find that the 3.73's and 4.10's make 6th gear a lot more usable for cruising. That reduces the impact on gas mileage.

Where you can get into trouble with the 4.10's will be at the track. With a 6,000rpm redline, and stock diamter tires, you're going to have to shift to 5th gear if you trap over 110 MPH.

Re: rear end gears???????

I switched to 4.10's last summer and couldn't be happier with them. I've got my car setup to be a street car and not a track car, so I wasn't too concerned with hitting 5th gear at the strip. If I had to do it again, I'd go with 4.10's in a heart beat. Well, actually, I probably would've bought a 12 bolt
