Is there a way from my car's vin # to identify the rear my car has?

Check the sticker on the driver's door for the gear code:

GU2 = 2.73's
GU5 = 3.23's
GU6 = 3.42's (<-- but they're for a 6-speed).

No RPO codes in doors or glove box.

If someone knows how to get this information from the
vin# I'd appreciate it.

Dana from Pro-Built is building me a tranny and he told me to get my rear's ratio form the vin#.

Any help would be great

I bought my camaro without the rpo codes too. I simply called GM and had them tell me over the phone the 40 RPO codes I had.

Try that calculator, and try the ratios 2.73 or 3.23, and see which corresponds to what your car does. Should be pretty easy to determine what you've got.
