rear end

i have a 1996 z28 automatic. i noticed that my posi wasnt working so i opened up the rear end and noticed that the whole carrier assembly was destroyed. when i would have the car up on stands and put it into drive. my right tire would spin perfect but left would barely turn and was jerky.so i replaced it with a rear end from a 94 camaro with 3.24 gears. i had to use my old axles due to the speed sensors being different. first. is the 96 z28 rear end geared the same as the 94 camaro becasue my speedometer is about 5miles off. and second. wheb i had my car on stands after i put the new rear end in. i had the same problem with the left tire jerking and barely spinning

Could be a seized brake caliper on the left rear of the car too. I believe there was a 2.73 ratio and a 3.42 ratio in '96 cars.

The automatics from 93-02 were all either 2.73 (RPO "GU2") or 3.23 (RPO "GU5"). Look at the build code tag in the glove box for the RPO codes shown in brackets. There never was a 3.24.... but all the M6's from 94-02 were 3.42 (GU6).
