rear end
rear end
ok heres the question. i was looking for the cheapest and safest way to upgrade my rear end. i dont have 2k for a full axle but i do have a few hundred dollars for a kit like this one http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=4&pcid=68
is this any better than what i have on thier now (stock) or should i save up and buy something else?
any other thoughts would be much appreciated.
i use the car for mostly just regular travel, but like to hit the gas once in a while and do some street racing and some drag racing at the track. i will be getting DR's soon and my rear is making noise already when i turn a corner.

Re: rear end
Why do you think you need a new rear??? A 10- bolt is strong enough for the average driver ( all 4th gen car except the SLP cars have the same rear.) unless you are abusing it. What do you call a strange noise, it really could be the limited slip digging in if you are on the gas.
Spend your money on something else. My opinion.

Re: rear end
MOTIVE Gears, in your choice of ratio...3.42, 3.73 or 4.10
Or, STRANGE Gears (2 or 3 series carrier) for $35 additional
RATECH Complete Gear Installation Kit
2 Quarts RED LINE Synthetic Gear Oil
1 Bottle GM Limited Slip Differential Additive
TA Performance Rear End Cover Girdle
TA Performance Stud Kit
If you are going to this mush trouble, change out the Limited Slip Differential(aka Posi) with a stronger unit, like Easton... The kit above just changes gears and bearings...
If you have never done a gear change before, its better to leave it up to the pros that do it everyday.... It appears easy, but its not...
