Re: obd1 high rpm issues...

We are looking for a pcm for a 1996 Firebird (using OBD1) that will go past 7,140 rpm without breaking up. We need one that will go to 7,500 - 7,600 rpm's (or close to it) before breaking up. I am helping him with the 4L60E in this vehicle, and we want to turn 9.90's, but need more rpm to acheive this. Right now it is running 10.20 - 10.30 ET's at 131 - 133 mph, with 1.31 - 1.34 60 foot ET's. We need to go back to the 4.56's (now has 4.30's) to get the 1.28 60 foot ET's that it use to get. This transmission is finishing its 2nd season (over 700+ passes) with no 3-4 clutch pack problems. If anyone can help?, let me know.
