Re-Assembling the drivetrain

Couple of questions: Any help is greatly appreciated.

1) Whats the best way to remove/install the flywheel? Just shuve a peice of wood in the teeth so it cant turn?

2) Where should I put grease? I bought some white lithium in a spray bottle and also have regular grease like the kind you put in ujoints etc.. Which kind should I use and where should I put it? How much?

3) If I am having the flywheel resurfaced do I need to put shims? If so were do they go?

4) Before installing things like the clutch/pressure plate/ flywheel I understand that they should be sprayed down w/ brake cleaner and wiped clean. Do you also spray the clutch?

4) Any websites where I can find torque specs for everything?

Re: Re-Assembling the drivetrain

I have everything off right now, im just waiting on taking the flywheel off, which is why I need some info on what I should use to stop it from turning.

Thanks.

I don't know of an easy way to do it. Just trial an error

An impact gun works if you have access to air. If not, a pry bar can be wedged between the ring gear teeth and the block.

Re: Re-Assembling the drivetrain

K thanks, I put a new pilot bearing in today. I couldnt get it to go 100% flush its a hair sticking out still. It sounds and feels like it cant go back anymore. Is this normal? Should it be 100% flush? I tried hitting it pretty hard and it sounds like metal on metal like it cant go back anymore.
