rattling in 1st and 2nd

I have a 6spd 94 Formula. Right after getting the car into 1st gear and letting the clutch all the way out there will be a loud high-speed metal on metal rattling noise coming from underneath the car. Its pretty loud, you could hear it from the side of the road if you were standing there. I get the same noise in second gear sometimes but not as much or as loud. It happens almost everytime I go into first. This is my first manual trans car and I've had it for a week now so maybe I just need to get better with the clutch? Anyone have any ideas.

Maybe your letting the RPM's die down to far, try keeping the RPM's above 1,000 and see if you still get the noise? Maybe a throwout bearing going bad?

I installed a Pro 5.0 shifter, and I still get the same exact rattling, its just a completely different tone now. WTH, its not the normal vibrations coming through the shifter either, its LOUD. I thought the throwout bearing was only being used when the clutch was engaged? I don't get the noise if I take a really long time to let the clutch out and get it up to maybe 5mph or so before I let it all the way out. Ideas?
