Ram clutches? good/bad?

Just want some opinions, i'm my 96 has a small cam in it: 224/230 .502/.510 (what cam is this anyways?) basic bolt on's, and stock heads. So maybe 330 to the ground ? Just wondering what clutch would be a nice street clutch but at the same time can get down to business if i want it to?

Thanks!

I would jsut use a stock clutch as long as possible. I have the full LT4 Hotcam kit in my car, cold air, msd 6al, and some tubular lcas and my clutch held up really well until this weekend when I shifted just over 6400rpm and let the clutch out too soon caused the clutch to exploid, but taht was due to the high RPM and the shift mistake. I have taken it up to 6500 several times with no problems

SPEC makes some very streetable yet very strong clutches for your Z28. I particularly like the Stage II+ clutch myself.

I had the RAM heavy duty clutch(the one rated to 400 or 450 hp) for a couple of years, and it was equivalent to stock IMO. It was fantastic for everyday driving(held a 125 shot just fine), but it sucked hard at the strip, especially once it got a little heat in it.

I have a SPEC stage II now, and it works a little better, but it'll still fade pretty bad after an agressive launch. If you can keep from aggressively slipping the clutch as you would have to do on street tires at the strip, I think you'll be fine with a RAM.
