Re: quick question about gears

Never knew there was a 4 series carrier for the 10 bolt, you have a 3 series carrier which will be fine with 4.10.

Re: quick question about gears

ive heard that you should only go up to 3.73 in a 10bolt, too much stress on internals with 4.10

Exactly, I have 4.11's on a stock 3 series carrier.

Not saying that you are wrong but with 4.10's you have more teeth to turn so it takes less power to rotate them wouldn't that be less stress?

The higher the ratio...the thiner the ring...I believe.

Re: quick question about gears

lets just say, make sure if you do put them on, go easy on it for a while... or boom, the teeth on the ring will go and crack in a big place

3.42, 3.73 and 4.10 are all the same ring gear, 41 teeth. Pinion is 12, 11 and 10, that being the difference.

Not sure about that one because they are also seeing more torque at a lower speed because of the higher RPM's. Thats a question for those guys on here that hurt my brain when I read their posts.
