quick LT1 trans question

quick LT1 trans question

pulling my trans tomorrow and was just wondering if theres anything i should know. Mainly want to know if theres any pain in da butt stuff i should know or anything special i should look out for. Seem everything on this car doesnt come out easy, any advice would be greatly appreciated

Use lots and lots of extensions on those top two bolts.....they will **** you off

The upper bolt on the driver side of the bellhousing is a real pain. It's so close to the trans tunnel it's almost impossible to get anything in there. Clean up the threads when you have it apart so it will go in until flush with just your fingers. Besides that the only other tip i have is to use a transmission jack if at all possible. It makes the job soooo much easier and is less tolling on you.

Don't forget to disconnect the shift cable. (I've done that... twice) lol

Dropping the tranny cross member and letting the tailshaft fall a little helps to gain access to the top 2 bellhousing bolts.

thx guys!! oh and i was gonna put it in "drivetrain" but i really wanted the LT1 guys too see it, not sure if the auto trans pull is different on the LS1 cars or not. Anywayz thx a bunch guys
