Quick 6-speed conversion question

hey guys,

I have a 1997 Camaro Z-28 w/ the LT1. It is currently an A4 but I would like to convert it to an M6. My friend has a t-56 tranny for sale out of a 1995 Camaro Z28. I was just wondering if this would work in my car being that it is out of an OBD1 and going into an OBD11. It would be nice if it would work cuase he also has all the other accessories that go with it such as the pedals, etc. Please let me know if this conversion is possible, thanx

Re: Quick 6-speed conversion question

The T56's from 94 through 97 are identical. The only electronic interfaces are the VSS, skip shift solenoid and the reverse lockout, which are identical in OBD-I and OBD-II.

Re: Quick 6-speed conversion question

ok cool. So I would just need to take it in somewhere to get those things set into the computer? I feel confident that I could do the rest of the work myself

Re: Quick 6-speed conversion question

You need to have your PCM reflashed from an A4 program to an M6 program.

Also, here's a guide that helped me with my A4->M6: http://www.afrashteh.com/tranny_pics/T56.htm
