Question for those who have knowledge of 10 bolt internals

A while back, I've swapped another rear-end in my car. Ever since I did that, I'm getting a constant ABS INOP at ~70ish. Scanning the code is too much trouble for me at the moment, but I'm sure it's rear-end related. Whatever the speedometer related components are, are they fairly easy to get to and check/replace without taking everything appart?
Thanks.

Does your car have traction control, or is it straight ABS? (4-channel vs. 3-channel ABS system). If it's only 3-channel, then you've got a speed sensor on top of the diff housing, over top of the carrier. Make sure it's installed and connected properly. If you have 4-channel ABS, then make sure your out-board sensors are connected properly (they're mounted just in behind the brakes on either side. That's just a start. If the sensors are plugged in properly, then you need to know whether the proper axles and/or carrier were actually installed. ABS only cars have a reluctor ring mounted directly on the carrier ... you'd have to pull the diff cover to make sure that it actually exists! If you have traction control, then there's a reluctor ring mounted on each axle, behind the wheel hub. If your axles DON'T have reluctor rings, then that's a problem too!

Beyond that? I'm no expert!

It's a 3 channel rear out of a 95 with no TCS swapped in a 93 body with no TCS. The previous owner told me that the rear worked fine in his car and I trust him. I will have to get the code scanned, I guess. Thanks for the help!

Pull the sensor on top of the diff housing and clean it off. Sometimes you get a buildup of metal particles on the sensor. While you're back there, make sure the harness connection is good.... no corrosion, no bent pins.

Thanks, Fred. I'll check it out. I have another rear in my garage if I need to replace it.
